New Self Service Tool Coming Soon for Provider Directory Updates

Update: We are delaying the launch of our new self-service tool as well as the previously planned downtime. You can continue to utilize the current self-service tool in the CareFirst Provider Portal to complete your provider directory updates and attestations.

In the February issue of BlueLink, we shared important information about CareFirst’s new self-service tool for provider directory updates and attestations coming your way in April.

The CareFirst Provider Directory Updates and Attestations self-service tool enables providers to submit directory information updates, and to complete the mandatory attestation that directory information is up to date at least every 90 days.

System Downtime Reminder

As we prepare to launch this new tool, there will be a period of time when you will not be able to complete any updates/attestations through the CareFirst Provider Portal.

  • The CareFirst Provider Directory Updates and Attestations Tool will be unavailable beginning mid-March through early April. This blackout period will NOT impact any other tools within the CareFirst Provider Portal.
  • In addition, new practitioners joining existing groups will not be able to complete applications to join our network via the Tool until the blackout period lifts in early April.
  • You will be notified via email when the on-line tools are available.

If you need to update your data or submit a new application while the current on-line self-service tools are not accessible, you can submit those requests manually utilizing the forms outlined below and send to: Mail Administrator, P.O. Box 14763 Lexington, KY 40512 or fax to: 410-872-4107.

*Keep in mind the processing of manual updates and applications may be delayed during this transition period.

Important Note for Institutional/Ancillary Providers: The system down-time only impacts Professional providers. Institutional and Ancillary providers should continue to utilize the same process that is in place today. See the Institutional/Ancillary credentialing page for more information.
