Electronic Payment Enrollment Through Zelis
We are pleased to announce that CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield Medicare Advantage (CareFirst) has partnered with Zelis to bring providers more efficiency and choice in how they receive claims payments and remittance information. CareFirst has transitioned its claims payment and remittance delivery from its current no-cost EFT to the no-cost CareFirst ePayment Center.
What is the CareFirst ePayment Center?
It is a no-cost enrollment solution for EFT/ERA transactions. Once enrolled, you will have access to remittance data and payment history through the ePayment Center portal. Payments are delivered via ACH directly to your bank account, and you can export remittance data, including 835 format. Payments are delivered via ACH/EFT. Please allow 3–5 business days for delivery.
What does this mean for you?
- To start receiving no-cost EFT (ACH) payments from CareFirst for Medicare Advantage claims, you will need to enroll in the CareFirst ePayment Center.
- If you do not enroll, you will continue receiving payments from CareFirst via paper check.
- If you are already enrolled with Zelis and receiving your payments for your Medicare Advantage claims via ACH/EFT, no further action is needed.
What do you need to enroll in the ePayment Center?
- Federal tax identification number (TIN) or employer identification number (EIN)
- Your practice’s corporate name and principal information
- Bank account routing transit number (RTN) / ABA routing number
- Bank account number
How do you enroll in CareFirst’s ePayment Center?
- Visit carefirstmedicaid-medicare.epayment.center and follow the instructions to obtain a registration code.
- Submit your information to start enrollment.
- Within 24–48 hours, you will receive an email from help@epayment.center outlining the next steps to complete enrollment.
