Effective July 1, 2015: Certain Infertility Benefits Now Covered for Same Sex Couples

July 10, 2015 -

As a result of Maryland House Bill 838/Senate Bill 416, coverage for certain infertility benefits are now covered for both same sex and heterosexual married couples.

Please follow your normal process when submitting your pre-authorization request for IVF services.

The revised coverage information is currently being updated in our online Medical Policy Reference Manual. Details will be available online by early August. Visit www.carefirst.com/medicalpolicy and enter 'IVF' in the search tool bar to view the updated details.
