Improved Functionality Coming to the Provider Portal

What You Can Expect

Toward the end of September, we will be implementing some enhancements to our Provider Portal (CareFirst Direct) with the goal of improving your overall user experience.

Currently, your practice uses CareFirst Direct for a host of administrative and patient care-related tasks, including:

  • verifying patient eligibility and benefits,
  • checking claim status, access remittance and Notice of Payment information, and
  • submitting inquiries.

With this month's enhancements, you can expect new and improved functionality, like:

  • a streamlined home page for quickly accessing the information you need,
  • a more user-friendly way to search for member eligibility and benefit details, and
  • more efficient ways to find the information you need for patients who may be out of the area.

We are also developing resources and job aids to help make this a seamless transition for you when you login.
