Are you billing for secondary benefits after Medicare has considered a claim?

• Medicare has a system in place to electronically forward claims to CareFirst for secondary processing after they have considered them for benefits. This is called the Medicare Crossover.
• The Medicare Crossover helps you save time and administrative costs because it eliminates the need for you to manually submit claims to CareFirst after Medicare has processed them.
• The Medicare Explanation of Benefits (MEOB) document has a section for letting you know if a claim has been forwarded and to which Payer.
