CareFirst Administrators | Continuity of Claims
Following the cybersecurity incident Change Healthcare reported on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, CareFirst Administrators (CFA) took immediate measures, severing network connections with Change Healthcare to prevent any potential further risk to our members.
CFA does not know when Change Healthcare will be able to securely return to service.
Effective immediately, we encourage CFA providers to utilize CareFirst’s Consolidated Gate Way for claims submissions (similar to other CareFirst claim submissions).
Any medical claims submitted to CFA using or passing through Change Healthcare since February 21 should be resubmitted through CareFirst’s Consolidated Gate Way.
Effective immediately, paper claims should no longer be sent to Change Healthcare (P.O. Box 981608 El Paso, TX 79998).
Going forward, please submit paper claims to this address: P.O. Box 14115 Lexington, KY 40512-4115. Claims submitted to the El Paso address prior to February 21, 2024, should be resubmitted to the new address.
As a reminder, providers can use CareFirst Direct or CFA LIN to check Member eligibility and benefits or to see a list of recent payments and remittances for these lines of business.
