System Now Open and Training Available: New Prior Authorization Requirements for Advanced Imaging (Cardiology and Radiology)
In May, we shared that CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst) and EviCore are collaborating to provide services for members enrolled in our fully insured commercial plans for Cardiology and Radiology Advanced Imaging.
Beginning July 15, the system is now open for ordering providers to submit a prior authorization request for outpatient services to EviCore for impacted members for dates of service August 2 and beyond.

CareFirst is providing a grace period for claims submission for services that were already scheduled between July 22 and August 1. Claims submitted for services requiring authorization during this time will not be denied for no authorization. CareFirst will require approved authorizations to be on file for claims payment for dates of service August 2 and beyond.
