System Downtime in Preparation for Enhancements to Provider Directory Updates and Attestation Tool

We are excited to announce enhancements to the Provider Updates and Attestations Tool in the CareFirst Provider Portal. These enhancements will introduce valuable new features, including:

  • Access to the list of CareFirst networks you participate in, along with start dates
  • The ability to track cases opened within the tool
  • Improved navigation for an overall better user experience

CareFirst CHPMD and Advantage DualPrime providers only: Please continue to submit updated demographic information to MDMCcredentialing@carefirst.com.

In the future, you will be able to use the Provider Updates and Attestation tool to update and attest to your data for these networks.  We will provide the information and training guides when the new features are launched.

System Downtime Notice

As we prepare to launch this new tool, there will be a period when current Commercial and Medicare Advantage network providers will not be able to complete any updates/attestations through the CareFirst Provider Portal.

  • The Provider Directory Updates and Attestations Tool will be unavailable beginning July 17. This downtime will NOT impact any other tools within the CareFirst Provider Portal.
  • New practitioners joining existing groups will not be able to complete electronic applications to join our network until the blackout period is lifted.
  • You will be notified via email when the online tools are available.

Submitting Updates During System Downtime

If you need to update your data or submit a new application while the online self-service tools are unavailable, you can submit requests manually using the forms below and send them to: Mail Administrator, P.O. Box 14763 Lexington, KY 40512 or fax to 410-872-4107.

Important Note for Institutional/Ancillary Providers: The system downtime only impacts Professional providers in our Commercial and Medicare Advantage Networks. Institutional and Ancillary providers should continue to use the same process that is in place today. See the Institutional/Ancillary credentialing page for more information.
