HealthyBlue Overview

HealthyBlue products are designed to reward members who work closely with their primary care providers (PCPs) to better understand and manage their care. Our goal is to have members work more closely with their PCPs to achieve healthy outcomes and reduce the rising cost of health care.

Benefit Design Overview

CareFirst recognizes that there is no one better suited to coordinate members’ care than primary care providers (PCPs). When PCPs and members have a longstanding mutually beneficial relationship, members are more inclined to rely on their PCP’s direction to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This collaborative relationship is at the heart of our HealthyBlue product line.

We have created a Quick Reference Guide that outlines the differences between our HealthyBlue products for you and your office staff.

Highlights of the HealthyBlue plans:

• No referrals.
• The member must submit the Health and Wellness Evaluation Form to CareFirst once complete.
• CareFirst members must complete the program requirements within 180 days of their effective date in order to quality for an incentive (Healthy Reward).
