2022 Updates to Dental Clinical Criteria and Dental Reference Guide for Required Attachments
Recently, CareFirst conducted a review of dental provider materials. Updates were made to Dental Clinical Criteria and to the Dental Reference Guide for Required Attachments. Please refer to these and our other Quick Reference Guides to stay up-to-date on how these updates may impact your practice when sending claims to CareFirst.
CareFirst uses dental policies as guidelines for coverage decisions as defined in your patients’ member benefit contracts. Coverage may vary based on regulatory requirements and/or the level of coverage purchased by the employer group or individual, so providers are encouraged to verify benefits and eligibility on CareFirst Direct prior to services being rendered.
