Important Reimbursement Notice: Non-Medical Admin Codes

Effective for dates of service on or after Nov. 1, 2015, CareFirst will no longer be providing reimbursement for claims billed with non-medical administrative services as the primary code. You must bill the reason for visit as the primary diagnosis. Administrative codes can be billed as the secondary diagnosis.

If you are referring a member for additional tests, be sure to indicate the primary diagnosis code on the referral or physician's order.
