Colleague, in accordance with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (known as ACA), CareFirst has made updates to the following existing preventive services:

  • Screening for abnormal blood glucose & type 2 diabetes mellitus
  • Screening for high blood pressure in adults
  • Behavioral & pharmacotherapy interventions for tobacco smoking cessation in adults (including pregnant women)
  • Screening for depression in adults, children and adolescents
  • Aspirin use for the primary prevention of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and colorectal cancer (CRC)
