PCMH Evaluation
CareFirst has engaged some of the nation's leading health researchers and economists to conduct independent evaluations of our Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) program. This section is designed to inform providers of the details of the evaluation and provide updates as they occur.
Additional information will be added throughout the course of the study and we encourage all PCMH providers to check back periodically for updates.

While there has been much debate about how health care coverage should be provided, there is broad agreement on the notion that more must be done to slow rising health care costs. This Aug. 14, 2017 *Health Affairs blog post, “What Should We Conclude From ‘Mixed’ Results In Payment Reform Evaluations?”, takes a look at some of the ongoing efforts nationally – including CareFirst’s PCMH program – aimed at improving quality and slowing the growth of health care costs.
